Sr. Quality and Safety Engineer

overview:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 
Manage quality, reliability and safety compliance activities during the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure that products, meet and/or exceeds, worldwide safety, chemical and performance requirements, deliver optimal product reliability, and fulfill customer expectations for the product. This position will also monitor product performance in the field and pose improvements as required and use the information to anticipate and prevent issues on future products.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">At concept stages of develop, conduct FMEA and other reviews to create a template for qualification requirements for downstream stages of testing. </li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Perform as QA core team member on project teams. </li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">As part of the new product introduction team (NPI), attend team meetings and lead all quality, safety and reliability activities and requirements </li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Coordinate internal and external testing as required and planned for the development stage. </li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Act as liaison during customer trials to facilitate the process. </li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Coordinate and arrange for appropriate retailer requirements to access test and compliance reports. </li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Key interface for hand off to Asia team members on program for continuity and coordinate of task completion. </li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Analyze customer return and complaints plus issue an monitor corrective action requests.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Provide packaging labeling specifications for new toys and interact with the packaging department as required.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Ensure all testing is completed successfully prior to releasing production or customer shipments. </li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Travel as needed to suppliers and or customers. (approximately 25% )</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Liaise with worldwide bodies (CPSC,&nbsp;etc.) in resolving regulatory disputes; coordinate required activities promptly and effectively.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Work closely with other functional groups such as Design, Marketing, Customer Care, Sales, Planning and other divisions in Asia and Europe.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Other task as assigned related to the domain knowledge of QA and the Toy industry. </li>

Qualifications:
&nbsp;

<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Minimum 10 years relevant experience in Quality engineering for product safety and reliability. </li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Toy industry experience.&nbsp; Consumer electronic experience may support this need depending on product lines. </li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Desirable experience in areas of mechanical, electro-mechanical, or manufacturing engineering disciplines. &nbsp;</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Compliance experience with agency standards for safety or other similar requirements. </li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Superior program team and project management skills.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Problem solving abilities and root cause analysis experience.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt; tab-stops: list .5in; mso-list: l0 level1 lfo1;">Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.</li>
