Job Details

Reporting to the Procurement Director, the Manager of Global Sourcing is responsible for discovering, evaluating and recommending new OEM and ODM sources throughout the Far East that will effectively support and enable our continued growth.  This key position will also be responsible for negotiating and closing high value contracts within budget.

Key Responsibilities

SOURCING

• Capable of employing a variety of sourcing techniques to present new suitable vendor candidates to the company
• Executes sourcing of open-market items or component level parts or materials as required
• Continuously evaluates global markets for emerging trends in Toy and CPG production that support effective decision making in establishing long and short-term vendor sourcing strategy
• Remains abreast of trade relations between China, North America and Europe with respect to issues such as VAT changes, quota issues, or any related governmental, social or environmental policies that might impact business
• Travels extensively, constantly evaluating, referring and recommending new vendor sources to the business

SUPPLIER EVALUATION/SELECTION

• Implements key qualitative and quantitative performance metrics to measure and manage supplier performance
• Coordinates and conducts supplier factory audits in China and abroad
• Builds effective relationships with counterparts from Quality, Engineering and Operations Planning teams
• Objectively presents new vendor recommendations to management team and is capable of winning the support of peers in establishing new vendor sources
• Demonstrates adherence to copmay goals of 100% vendor compliance on ICTI and C-TPAT
